A chair
stands empty
Thomas Bernhard came to Café Bräunerhof almost every day. Black Coffee, the Austrian papers, his usual spot. He wasn‘t the only one wo made this place his own – just, perhaps, the most famous.
We are changing very little, but there is a lot to do. The benches are being reupholstered, the woodwork cared for, the chandeliers brought back to a shine. However, the Eiernockerl aren‘t going anywhere, the tiles still glow yellow and the papers are still on the table. Nothing we are changing should catch your eye – you should only feel it, the moment you walk in.
Until then: a chair stands empty, reserved for you.
